A New Chapter Rooted in a Lifelong Passion for Helping Others
Nadine’s journey to becoming an acupuncturist was anything but traditional—and that is precisely what makes it so meaningful. Built on years of life experience, a genuine passion for helping others and the courage to pursue an entirely new path, it is a journey she is incredibly proud to call her own.
For more than 20 years, Nadine owned and operated early childhood learning centres, creating environments centred around caring for children, supporting families, leading teams, and contributing to her community. She also spent several years of her professional career in the financial industry, where she worked closely with entrepreneurs and business owners as they pursued their own goals.
Although these experiences may seem very different from acupuncture, there has always been a common thread throughout Nadine's life: a genuine passion for helping others.
Over the years, her interest in health, healing, and the connection between the mind and body continued to grow. Inquisitive by nature, Nadine has always wanted to understand why something is happening rather than simply accepting that it is. That curiosity eventually led her to explore Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
Ultimately, it inspired her to make one of the biggest decisions of her life.
Starting Over at 50
At 50 years old, Nadine decided it was time to follow a passion that had been quietly growing for years. She returned to school.
Stepping away from the comfort and familiarity of the career and life she knew, Nadine dedicated the next two years to studying acupuncture in Halifax. Returning to school at 50 wasn't easy. It required determination, sacrifice, countless hours of studying, and a willingness to challenge herself in completely new ways. But the experience also reinforced something she has always believed: it's never too late to pursue something meaningful.
The program was hands-on from the start, with more than 700 hours of supervised clinical experience treating real patients before she ever opened her own practice. It shaped the way she works today: a comprehensive intake, an objective AcuGraph assessment, and a treatment plan built for the person on the table rather than a textbook case.
Studying acupuncture gave her the opportunity to bring together so many of the things that have always been important to her: health, the mind-body connection, curiosity, lifelong learning, and helping others. What began as an interest grew into a passion and, ultimately, a new purpose.
How I work with you.
-
Individualized Care
No two people are exactly alike, and their acupuncture treatments shouldn't be either. Your treatment plan is based on your individual presentation rather than your diagnosis or symptoms alone.
-
Whole-Person Perspective
Traditional Chinese Medicine encourages us to look at how different symptoms may be connected. Pain, digestion, sleep, stress, energy, emotions, and hormonal changes can all be considered when developing your treatment.
-
Comfortable & Respectful
You should feel comfortable asking questions about your treatment. I will explain what we're doing and adapt treatments whenever necessary to respect your comfort level.
-
Collaborative
Acupuncture can be one part of your overall healthcare. I support an integrative approach and encourage patients to continue working with their physician and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
