Rooted in Tradition, Personalized for You
Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes that two people experiencing the same symptoms may have very different underlying patterns. For this reason, your treatment is individualized.
Your treatment is individualized according to your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and treatment goals. Depending on your needs, it may include traditional acupuncture or complementary techniques such as electroacupuncture, cupping, gua sha, Tui Na massage, and moxibustion. You won't necessarily receive every therapy during each appointment; the techniques used are selected according to what is appropriate for you and your treatment plan.
A real conversation
Your first visit starts with a comprehensive intake: health history, concerns, symptoms, medications, sleep, digestion, energy and stress, and any treatments or approaches you have already tried. This conversation helps me understand you as a whole person, not simply the condition that brought you through the door.
An AcuGraph assessment
A digital AcuGraph exam measures the balance of your body’s channels, giving us objective information about where your system is out of balance, plus a baseline to track your progress over time. A Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment may also include looking at your tongue and feeling your pulse.
First visit treatment
From your very first visit, your care begins. I explain my treatment approach and answer any questions before we start, then your treatment is customized to your individual needs and findings. Treatment may last between one and two hours.
Resolution, then maintenance
As your symptoms improve and your body moves toward greater balance, treatments can gradually be spaced further apart. The goal is to support your long-term health, balance, and well-being.
More than needles.
Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a variety of therapeutic techniques that can be used individually or combined to create a treatment tailored specifically to you. Not every technique is appropriate for every person or every visit: your treatment evolves with you and may change as your symptoms and needs change.
Acupuncture
Fine, sterile, single-use needles, very different from the needles used for injections or blood tests. Most people feel little to no discomfort as they go in.
Electro-acupuncture
A gentle current between needle pairs, useful for stubborn pain and muscle recruitment.
Cupping & fire cupping
Suction therapy that lifts and decompresses tissue, easing tension and supporting circulation.
Guasha
A smooth-edged tool worked over the skin to release muscle tension and support recovery.
Tuina massage
Therapeutic Chinese massage that complements needling, particularly for musculoskeletal pain.
Moxa
Gentle warming of specific points, traditionally used to support circulation and relaxation.
